Republic Day

On October 25, Kazakhstan celebrates Republic Day — a national holiday dedicated to the country’s declaration of independence in 1991. This special day returned to our calendar two years ago.

The Declaration proclaimed the sovereignty of the country and established the political and legal foundations of Kazakhstan as an independent state. For the first time, it enshrined principles of statehood, such as the integrity, indivisibility, and inviolability of its territory, the development of the culture and languages of its people, and the strengthening of national identity.
