Human body operates significantly different during the cold season. Nutrition is an important element that impacts our body’s performance. Here are some tips on what to eat during the cold season.
Tip 1. No starving!
The calorie count of your meals in winter should be higher than that of your meals in summer. It can be done by increasing the consumption of fish, poultry and meats, i.e. the products with high content of “heavy proteins”. Of course, we cannot do without carbohydrates in winter as well. Excluding them from your diet may weaken your immune system, thus making it easy for you to catch cold.
Tip 2. Vitamins, more vitamins!
It is essential to include products rich in vitamins into your diet, especially vitamins A and E. In winter, they also play a valuable role. Vitamin E, for instance, helps to protect skin from crusting and freezing.
Tip 3: Don’t forget to drink water!
Even in winter we should drink at least 1.5 liters of liquid, one liter of it being plain water. Other liquids may include compotes, infusions or warm teas.
Tip 4. Hot dishes are a must!
Hot dishes or warm beverages are mandatory. If you have to snack on the go, it is recommended that you drink warm tea afterwards.
Tip 5. Variety!
Try to make the menu as diverse as possible. Products need to be alternated every day. This variety of dishes and the fractional principle of meals will provide your body with enough energy and you will be able to stay active during the winter.

In February of this year the team of the new program “Qai aimaq” paid a visit to “Okzhetpes” health and wellness complex. They showed how to spend winter holidays and what awaits future guests of Burabay in winter.

Viral pneumonia is a serious disease that affects lungs severely. A good sleep, outdoor walks and balanced nutrition are the essential elements of proper recovery. Food must be easy to digest so that it does not stress the gastrointestinal tract.
Proteins are quite crucial during the recovery period: cottage cheese, regular cheese, meats, and legumes. And, of course, vegetables and fruits.
One of the serious complications of pneumonia is pulmonary fibrosis. Fibrosis is the replacement of normal lung tissue by connective tissue. Complications in the form of fibrosis do not usually occur in patients with mild or asymptomatic forms. Unfortunately, there are no drugs that can help lungs work the way they did before pneumonia. Pulmonary tissue needs to regenerate itself, and we need to help it with physical rehabilitation – breathing exercises.
Can those people who had pneumonia do sports?
– They can’t do sports right away, i.e. they can’t run, exercise or go to the gym right away. Lung damage always leads to a decrease in patient’s mobility and performance capability. If lungs are damaged, they need to be restored first, not stressed. Physical activity cannot be intense. Therapeutic massage can definitely help and promote recovery.
Stress has a negative effect on rehabilitation. Anxiety and negative emotions cause vascular spasms and increase blood viscosity. It is therefore important to feel relaxed and not to worry.
Will the intake of vitamins and dietary supplements speed up the rehabilitation process?
– It is not necessary to take synthetic vitamins: strengthening your body by consuming fruits is much better. Green vegetables, legumes and greens help to prevent vitamin B deficiency. Raspberries, currants and gooseberries are a depositary of vitamins, and that’s what we need to consume.
